As we learned in our previous blog, house fire are common and can be started from activities most individuals do on a daily basis, like cooking or using electricity within their business or home.  Some good, simple tips to help prevent fires are listed below.

1.  Understand fire is very serious and can get out of control very easily.

2.  Make an escape plan for at home and at the office so everyone knows what to do in case a fire occurs.

3. Install smoke detectors and check them on a monthly basis.  Change the batteries twice yearly.

4. Watch for hazardous situations in your home that could result in a fire.

5.  Have a fire extinguisher in the home and at your office.
