Electrical fires are one of the leading causes of house and business fires in the United States.  

You may lessen your chances of an electrical fire with a few simple steps:

1. Closely examine electrical equipment and their cords.  
2. Change out cords that are old, rotting, or becoming frayed.  These are hazardous!
3. Hire a licensed electrician to survey your home or business.  She or he will check your outlets and any wires that could lead to fire.
